Master of Khmer Classical Dance
Neak Kru Kuntheary Pich is a master teacher of Khmer classical dance with a lifelong dedication to preserving Cambodia’s most sacred art form. Born in Takeo Province, Cambodia, she began her formal training in 1972 at the Royal University of Fine Arts (RUFA) in Phnom Penh. There, she studied under the country’s most esteemed dance masters and earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in classical dance.
Her career spans decades of performing, teaching, and choreographing, during which she has passed on the intricate gestures, spiritual depth, and refined technique of Khmer classical dance to countless students. Known for her gentle spirit, deep cultural knowledge, and unwavering discipline, Neak Kru Kuntheary is highly respected among her peers and beloved by her students.
As one of Angkor Dance Troupe’s Master Teachers, she continues to shape the next generation of dancers through mentorship, performance, and cultural stewardship. Through her artistry and instruction, she ensures that Cambodia’s classical dance heritage remains alive, vibrant, and rooted in its royal traditions.
